Short answer: Yes. The whole Govino SA range is dishwasher safe. For the longest life and clearest finish, wash on the top rack, use a normal detergent, and avoid abrasive scourers. Hand washing in warm soapy water works just as well. Tritan™ resists clouding far better than acrylic or polycarbonate.
How do I wash Govino glasses?
- Dishwasher: top rack, upright or angled so water drains. A normal or eco cycle is perfect.
- By hand: warm soapy water and a soft sponge or cloth.
- Drying: air-dry or use a lint-free cloth for a polished look.
What should I avoid?
- Steel wool, scouring powder and the green side of the sponge: they leave fine scratches
- Microwaves, ovens and boiling liquids
- Very aggressive sanitising cycles over long periods (fine occasionally, but gentler cycles extend life)
- Stacking wet glasses tightly inside each other
- Squeezing them between heavier glass items in the dishwasher, which can deform them
Tips for the clearest finish
- Wipe off lip gloss and sunscreen with a soft, non-abrasive sponge before the dishwasher; they cause smudging
- Turn off the extended heated-drying cycle
- Buff dry with a lint-free cloth or paper towel
How do I remove red wine stains or cloudiness?
Red wine left overnight can tint any glass. Soak in warm water with a little dishwashing liquid or a spoon of bicarbonate of soda, then wash normally. Hard-water film comes off with a short soak in diluted white vinegar.
